So let me see, the last time I talked to all of you blog readers I was getting back from Germany and trying to settle into my life in a long distance relationship. Well within that time I judged a spelling bee, taught lessons, celebrated Easter, became single, and did all the things that a good Peace Corps Volunteer is supposed to do. Unlike my first break-up I really don’t want to go into it other than to say I still care about him dearly, and yes I am angry and bitter about the situation, but I will and do remain friends with him. He has gotten me through some of the most difficult times in this Peace Corps journey and I am and will forever be grateful to him.
Now with that said. On the 15th of April Joe, Emmy, Drago and I went to Ruse and helped organize a regional spelling bee. Now for those of you who know me at all know that I can’t spell for anything. I am a horrible speller. I spell the way things sound and in English, the words don’t always spell the way they sound. So I was grateful for the word list that was provided. Only 9 kids showed up but it was great and the kids did so good. It took forever for them to finish because they were all such great spellers.
For Easter I went to Knesha and visited with my host family. It was nice to see Angel, Illika, Nina, Yruselum
and Nikol. I also got to make a new friend Nancy. Nancy is a new volunteer and she is so nice. I know she will be a great teacher. We painted eggs and hit them against each other. We made and ate way too much Kosonack, and Nancy and I went to church on Easter. The funny thing was that church was so different. You walk in cross yourself, light a candle and leave. No muss no fuss. And you could go anytime you want. I visited with Iuli and all in all had a great time.
Now I am contemplating the next year and three months, the summer and basically what’s next in my life. The Royal Wedding of Kate and Will is tommorrow, better watch that after school.
