What have I done

This isn’t some sort of self deprecating post, when in reality I have spent the last 2 weeks being really down on myself for no reason at all.  As my first school year comes to a close and I ask myself, “what have I really done?”  I have come to the conclusion that I have done a lot for these kids, and for myself.  I know what I hope to accomplish, but I sometimes think that is unrealistic.  Peace Corps tells us that the three goals are, to teach nationals about America, to learn about the culture you are living in, and then to bring that information back to America.  And I feel as though with this blog, and my Facebook page I am doing that in spades.  I am here as an embassador of sorts.  Not official, because if I was I would have a much nicer apartment.  I am a teacher, but what I really hope I am doing is showing these kids that they can have dreams.  Goal that they can work for and achieve for their future.  That is my true goal for these kids.  I hope that my presence here, will benefit the future of Isperih and maybe Bulgaria as a whole.  Who knows, maybe I have the first female president of Bulgaria in my class.  Time will tell.
